Historically, District 4 has sorely lacked the public investments that our residents need to thrive. It has the least parks space of any district in Austin. North Lamar Boulevard, our main corridor, has lacked basic sidewalks and drainage since it was built. Our pools, libraries, and infrastructure have been long neglected.
As the first person elected to represent this district, I have prioritized making a real change for our neighborhoods that have been left behind. I’m proud that we have delivered hundreds of millions of dollars worth of investments into our district.
We’re opening new parks, bringing rail and rapid bus to District 4, getting sidewalks and streets repaired, putting infrastructure in place to reduce flooding, preserving and fixing affordable housing, and we’re partnering with others to build out community colleges, workforce development centers, health clinics, and now even a soccer stadium nearby!

Históricamente, el Distrito 4 ha tenido el menor espacio de parques de cualquier distrito de Austin. El Boulevard North Lamar , la columna vertebral de nuestra área, ha carecido de aceras y drenaje básico desde su construcción. Nuestras piscinas, bibliotecas e infraestructura se han descuidado.
Como la primera persona elegida para representar a este distrito, he sentido la responsabilidad de demostrar que la representación del distrito puede hacer un cambio real para nuestros vecindarios que se han dejado atrás. Me siento orgulloso de haber entregado millones de dólares en inversiones en nuestro distrito.
Estamos abriendo nuevos parques, trayendo trenes y autobuses rápidos al Distrito 4, reparando aceras y calles, implementando infraestructura para reducir inundaciones, preservando y arreglando viviendas asequibles, y nos estamos asociando con otros para construir colegios comunitarios, centros de desarrollo laboral, clínicas de salud y ahora incluso un estadio de fútbol cercano.
